Thomas & Marker Receives
Excellence Awards For Projects

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s Zoombezi Bay, the new corporate offices for Union Rural Electric in Marysville, Bluffton University’s Baseball Memorial Field and Mary Rutan Hospital’s Emergency Department projects all received Awards of Excellence from the Associated Builders and Contractors.   The award, known as the “Eagle,” is given for those construction projects that stand out because of quality and uniqueness of construction.  Client and architect letters of recommendation are submitted along with the other award criteria.

Ground Broken For The Columbus Zoo And Aquarium’s Polar Frontier Exhibit

Thomas & Marker recently broke ground for the Zoo’s new $20 million polar bear exhibit. The exhibit, which will also feature arctic fox and brown bear, is slated for a spring 2010 opening. Thomas & Marker has completed all of the Zoo’s major exhibits since first partnering in 1998 on the pachyderm exhibit.

City of Bexley’s New Police Facility Awarded

The City of Bexley recently awarded construction of their new police department facility to Thomas & Marker. Construction is set to begin in November on this 20,065 square foot, $7 million facility and scheduled to complete in January 2010.

Ground Broken On Upper Arlington Fire Station #72

Thomas & Marker is construction manager on
this 32,000 square foot, $8.5 million new facility.  Once constructed, the new facility will replace the current structure which will be demolished.  The project is scheduled to complete in April of 2009.

Recently Completed Union Rural Electric Cooperative Set To Receive LEED Gold Certification

Thomas & Marker’s recently completed Union Rural Electric Cooperative project in Marysville is in the process of attaining LEED Gold certification. The many “green” design features such as rain gardens, bioswales and the use of natural light set this project apart.

Work Continues On Consolidated Electric Cooperative’s New Headquarters Building

Thomas & Marker is currently working on
Consolidated Electric Cooperative’s new headquarters facility in Delaware.  The 27,500 square foot facility with a 4,500 square foot storage unit is on a fast track
schedule having started in May of 2008 and set to complete in December 2008.

One Recently Completed, As Two New Raising Cane’s Restaurants Break Ground

Thomas & Marker broke ground on the two most recent locations for this popular restaurant chain in Grove City and Hilliard.  This follows on the heels of the Polaris location for Raising Cane’s that completed in October, 2008.  Thomas & Marker has completed all the new Raising Cane’s central Ohio facilities which include locations near Ohio State University and Gahanna.
