Thomas & Marker has worked on multiple projects in the quaint village of Ada, Ohio. Over the years, we have grown to the love the people, the places, and the community. So, when a massive fire destroyed a historic church in downtown Ada, T&M jumped at the chance to help rebuild one of the community’s treasured icons.
Although there was little left of the original building, the church members remained positive and quickly made plans to rebuild on the same historic site. The church committee selected Thomas & Marker to lead the construction process, and we have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this restorative project.
The new church incorporates some of the original Gothic architecture while adding much more glass to create an open and inviting space. Per the church’s recommendations, the lobby of the new building showcases both the original church bell and an original, dated stone from the historic building.
The First United Methodist Church of Ada held its first Sunday morning worship in its new building on March 1, 2015. We feel privileged to have played an important role in helping them reach this monumental day.
“We always felt like a member of the team with T&M and our architect. Of special note are Matt Ludwig and especially Theron France. Both were extremely responsive… Theron provided us with very competent leadership with a great deal of energy, passion, and concern for what he and T&M were doing for us, for our community, and for God!”
Bob McCurdy, Chairman of Church Building Committee
